Lewis Hamilton wins German GP, extends lead to 19 points

Lewis Hamilton has won the German Grand Prix, thus extending his World Driver Championship lead to 19-points. This victory marks Hamilton's fourth consecutive win of the season. Meanwhile, team-mate Nico Rosberg finished at fourth position, behind the Red Bull duo of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.

Hamilton started from second at the grid, while Rosberg had the pole position. But the British driver managed to take the lead after a bad start from his German counterpart. From then, Hamilton led the race throughout, without any dramas.

On the other hand, Rosberg fell back to fourth position. He did try hard to recover the loss, but suffered a five second penalty for forcing Max Verstappen off the track on Lap 30. He served the penalty during his second pit stop on Lap 44, and joined the race at fourth position. Rosberg clung onto the fourth spot afterwards as the Red Bulls had gone clear ahead.

The Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen passed the finish on the fifth and sixth spot, respectively. Nico Hulkenberg of Force India came in seventh, while McLaren's Jenson Button secured the eighth spot. Valtteri Bottas of Williams and Sergio Perez of Force India completed the top-10 list of the German GP.

Heading into the summer break, Lewis Hamilton has earned a strong lead of 19 points. Driver standings for the WDC 2016 now are:
1. Lewis Hamilton - 217
2. Nico Rosberg - 198
3. Daniel Ricciardo - 133
