Locally assembled Mercedes EQS 580 launch on September 30

The carmaker also plans to launch a non-AMG version, which will be assembled locally.

Mercedes-Benz launched the AMG EQS 53 electric sedan earlier this week. The carmaker also plans to launch a non-AMG version, which will be assembled locally.

According to a media report, the EQS 580 4Matic will be launched on September 30, 2022. It will be assembled at the brand’s Chakan plant.

The Mercedes EQS is based on the EVA platform. The EQS 580 uses a dual-motor set up. It packs 516 BHP and 856 Nm and is powered by a 107.8 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a maximum range of 770 km (WLTP cycle).

The AMG EQS 53 also comes with dual electric motors. Together they produce 762 BHP and 1020 Nm. The motors are powered by a 107.8 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a range of up to 586 km on a single charge.
