Locally-assembled Mercedes EQS 580 priced at Rs. 1.55 crore

The EQS 580 costs Rs. 90 lakh less than the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 S.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQS 580 in India. The all-electric sedan is the brand’s first locally assembled EV. It is priced at Rs 1.55 crore (ex-showroom).

The EQS 580 gets a slightly different front fascia compared to the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 S, which was launched earlier this year. The car still has the blanked-out grille with sleek LED headlamps and a light bar, but the front bumper design is a bit different. It also rides on smaller 20-inch wheels.

Inside, the EQS 580 comes with three large screens integrated into the dashboard fascia. Mercedes calls this the ‘Hyperscreen’ and it includes a screen each for the digital instrument cluster, the infotainment system and a third display on the passenger side. The car also gets features like a head-up display, Burmester audio system, air filtration system, 3D maps and massage function for the front seats.

The EQS 580 uses two electric motors – one on each axle. They have a combined output of 516 BHP and 855 Nm and are powered by a 107.8 kWh battery pack. Mercedes claims that a 0-100 km/h time of 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 210 km/h and a maximum range of 857 km.
