Mahindra 110 cc scooter spotted on test

Mahindra Two Wheelers is gearing up to enter the 110 cc scooter segment with a new product that has been codenamed G301. The scooter has been spotted while testing.

Going by the pictures of the scooter, the G301 appears to have a simple, unisex design with its turn indicators located on the front apron and decent legroom for the rider. The bike is expected to come with a 106.7 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine that puts out 8.5 PS @ 7500 rpm and 8.5 Nm of torque @ 5500 rpm. This is the same engine that does duty in the Centuro motorcycle, which is the company’s most successful product. However, unlike the Centuro, the G301 will get a CVT automatic transmission.

Mahindra is likely to keep the price of the scooter down by keeping it basic. The test mule does not have features like alloy wheels and disc brakes. With the G301, Mahindra will take on the likes of the Honda Activa, Suzuki Jupiter, TVS Wego, Suzuki Let's and Hero Maestro.

Mahindra's current range of scooters consists of the Rodeo RZ, Duro RZ and Flyte which come with a 125 cc engine and the Kine which has a 71.5 cc unit.
