Mahindra to deliver 1,000 Thars during Diwali festive period

Mahindra has announced that it will deliver 1,000 units of the new Thar across the country during this Diwali festive period. The deliveries are based on the sequence of bookings received for the variants that are available.

The company claims to have put in place a customer connect process to reach out to every customer individually and communicate their likely/exact delivery dates. To start with, Mahindra had planned for a production capacity of about 2,000 vehicles per month. The company plans to ramp it up to 3,000 by January 2021.

The delivery process commenced on 1st November with the first car delivered to Aakash Minda, the online auction winner. Over the weekend of November 7 and November 8, 2020, Mahindra delivered 500 units of the Thar across the country.

The Thar is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder mStallion petrol that produces 150 BHP and 320 Nm and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel that makes 130 BHP and 320 Nm. Power is sent to all the four wheels via a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
