Mahindra dispatches 14,000 XUV700s by January 26

Mahindra had received over 70,000 bookings for the XUV700 within just a few weeks following its launch.

According to Mahindra, the company has dispatched 14,000 XUV700s to dealerships across India by January 26, 2022.

The XUV700 has clocked almost 1 lakh bookings since October 7, 2021. However, the semiconductor shortage has led to production delays and a backlog of orders. The waiting period for the car is around 19 months.

The chip shortage has also forced Mahindra to introduce the AX7 Smart variant with fewer features. It misses out on ADAS, ESP, hill hold assist, hill descent control, knee airbag, drive modes, electronic parking brake, wireless charger, electric door handles and Driver Drowsiness Detection.

The XUV700 comes with two engine options: 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol producing 197 BHP and 380 Nm and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that makes 182 BHP and 420 Nm (MT) / 450 Nm (AT). Both engines come with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel-drive is also available as an option.
