Mahindra develops special XUV700 seat for differently-abled

The front passenger seat can swivel 90-degrees, which makes it easier to get in and out of the vehicle.

A team of engineers at Mahindra Research Valley has developed a special seat for the XUV700, following a request by Paralympian Deepa Malik.

The seat has been designed keeping in mind the requirements of the differently-abled. The front passenger seat can swivel 90-degrees, which makes it easier to get in and out of the vehicle.

Earlier, Deepa Malik had requested Mahindra, Tata Motors and MG Motor India to develop a seat for differently-abled folks like her. Anand Mahindra took note of Deepa's Twitter post and directed his team to take up the project.

About 2 months later, Mahindra invited Deepa to the Mahindra Research Valley to test out the special seat for herself. The smile on her face was the stamp of approval.
