Mahindra Genio facelift spotted without camouflage

Mahindra has been testing a facelifted version of the Genio pickup truck. It has been spotted on a couple of occasions. Here is another image of the vehicle without any camouflage.

As we have seen before, the Genio gets a restyle grille with a honeycomb mesh pattern and silver accents, reworked headlamps, a new bumper with a wide air dam and round fog lamp housings and a tweaked bonnet with prominent creases. These changes give the front end of the vehicle a completely different look compared to the current model.

The image shows the Genio in single cab body style. Like the current model, a double cab version is also expected to be available.

Mahindra is likely to carry over the 2.5-litre diesel engine from the current Genio to the facelifted version. This unit develops 75 BHP and 220 Nm of torque and is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is available in global markets with the Scorpio's 2.2-litre, mHawk diesel engine that is capable of developing 120 BHP and 280 Nm of torque. Unlike the Indian version, it gets a four-wheel drive system as well.

Mahndra is expected to reveal the facelifted Genio in 2016.
