Mahindra & Hero Electric partner to build electric 2-wheelers

Mahindra will manufacture Hero Electric's Optima and NYX e-scooters

Hero Electric has partnered with Mahindra Group to cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles in India.

As part of the partnership, Mahindra will manufacture Hero Electric's Optima and NYX e-scooters at its Pitampur facility. On the other hand, Hero Electric will be expanding its existing facility at Ludhiana in order to achieve its target of manufacturing over 1 million EVs per year by 2022.

The partnership will also help with the electrification of the Peugeot Motorcycles' range and will enable both companies to optimize costs and timelines. Besides this, both brands will work together to develop new products and technologies.
