Mahindra Mojo with ABS spotted testing

Mahindra has started testing an ABS-equipped version of the Mojo motorcycle. The bike has been spotted at a parking lot with testing equipment wired to it.

The Mojo uses 320 mm and 240 mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively. The ABS unit is reported to have been sourced from Continental. The system is expected to reduce the bike's stopping distance and improve its stability on braking.

The addition of the ABS unit is a good step from Mahindra, considering that the government is likely to make ABS compulsory on all two-wheelers over 125cc by April 2018.

The Mojo is powered by a 295cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine that develops 27 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 30 Nm of torque @ 5,500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has a 21 litre fuel tank, dual exhaust pipes, headlamps with DRLs, an inverted fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
