Mahindra Quanto AMT spotted testing

Mahindra had displayed an automated manual transmission-equipped version of Quanto MPV at the 2014 Auto Expo held earlier this year. In September, we reported that the company could launch the Quanto AMT by the end of the year. Now, a test mule of the vehicle has been spotted.

The images of the test mule show the car with the same colour and body graphics as the one displayed at the Auto Expo. The autoshift sticker on the front door has been masked with some camouflage. On the inside, the car is likely to get a new steering wheel, which resembles the one in the new Scorpio.

The Quanto AMT is said to use a 5-speed gearbox built by Mahindra in collaboration with Ricardo of UK. The Quanto AMT could also feature regenerative braking which was provided on the car at the Expo.

Power for the Quanto AMT is likely to be provided by the same 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, diesel engine as the manual variant.
