Mahindra Racing announces 2018/19 Formula E driver line-up

Mahindra Racing has announced its new driver line-up for the 2018/19 Formula E season. Former F1 driver and 2015 DTM Champion Pascal Wehrlein will be joined by two-time Formula E winner Jerome D'Ambrosio. Nick Heidfeld will be the team's official test and reserve driver, while Sam Dejonghe will continue his role as the simulator and development driver.

At 20-years old, Pascal Wehrlein became the youngest driver to win a DTM title in 2015. In 2011, he became the F3 European Championship’s Top Rookie and Formula 3 Euro Series Vice-Champion. In 2014, he took over the role of development and simulator driver for the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 team. He went on to race in F1 for 2 seasons with Manor Racing and later with the Sauber F1 Team.

For the last 4 years, Jerome D'Ambrosio raced in Formula E with Dragon Racing. He was part of the Renault F1 Driver Development Program and has raced in 20 Formula 1 races so far. D'Ambrosio was crowned Belgian Formula Renault Champion, International Formula Master Champion and was the runner-up in the GP2 Asia Series. He has already tested the Gen2 car but will make his first public outing for the team at the Valencia test in October.

Mahindra has also unveiled its livery for the M5Electro Formula E car.
