Mahindra Racing scores double podium in New York City ePrix

Mahindra Racing scored a double podium finish at the second race of the 2016-17 FIA Formula E Championship. The race which took place at the Brooklyn Street Circuit, New York saw Felix Rosenqvist and Nick Heidfeld finishing in second and third respectively, in Race 2.

The first race of the New York circuit is of 43 laps and the second race is of 49 laps. The cars are swapped in during each race because of the battery life. In Race 1, Rosenqvist finished on 15th position after qualifying in P17. Heidfeld had to retire from P7 due to suspension damage.

In Race 2, the all-electric M3Electro race cars of Rosenqvist and Heidfeld did well in the Super Pole shoot-out to gain 2nd and 5th positions on the grid respectively. The Swedish driver was quick off the line from second position and stormed into the lead on lap 1 but lost the position to Sam Bird of DS Virgin Racing on lap 10. Over the course of 49 laps, Heidfeld gained a couple spots to eventually finish in P3 while Bird was the first to take the checkered flag.

In the driver standings, Rosenqvist with 104 points is in 3rd position. Sebastien Buemi leads the with 157 points followed by Luca Di Grassi at 147 points. Nick Heidfeld is in sixth place with 78 points. The Team's standings after the 10th round are as follows:

1.Renault E. Dams - 259 points

2.ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport - 194 points

3.Mahindra Racing - 182 points
