Mahindra Rexton (XUV700) spied

New spy images of the Mahindra-Ssangyong Rexton SUV have surfaced online. The new model is based on the G4 Rexton that debuted in March 2017. In India, it will reportedly be sold under the brand name of XUV700 and will be positioned above the XUV500. 

The Mahindra-badged Rexton was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo. It featured a new chrome grille with 6 vertical slats. However, the test mule seen here is sporting the stock Ssangyong grille. Apart from that, the front bumper has chrome inserts and position lights and projector headlights with integrated LED DRLs. The SUV is equipped with dual-tone 5-spoke alloy wheels that were seen on the car displayed at the Auto Expo. 

The Mahindra Rexton gets dual-tone interiors with a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a centre console with a touchscreen infotainment system. 

Mahindra hasn't revealed any details about the powertrains yet, however the Rexton (XUV700) could be offered with a 2.2-litre, diesel engine with 184 BHP and 420 Nm of torque paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
