Mahindra signs MoU with Maharashtra Govt. to deploy 1,000 EVs

Mahindra & Mahindra has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Maharashtra to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles (EV). The carmaker also plans an additional investment of Rs. 500 crore in its Chakan plant.

Mahindra will be working closely with fleet operators, taxi aggregators and logistics companies to deploy 1,000 EVs in the state over the next 1 year. Initially, 25 e2oPlus EVs will be launched on the Zoomcar self-drive platform in Mumbai.

The carmaker plans to manufacture EVs, e-motors, controllers, battery packs and other components at its Chakan plant. EV components manufactured by Mahindra will be supplied to other Mahindra group companies as well as to other customers.
