Mahindra Thar official teaser video out

Mahindra has released a teaser video of the next generation Thar. The SUV is scheduled to be unveiled on August 15, 2020.

The new Thar is believed to be based on the Gen3 chassis and is wider than its predecessor. The SUV gets a seven slat grille and flared fenders just like the outgoing model. Moreover, in the wider stance, the Thar looks similar to the Jeep Wrangler. It will be offered with soft top and hard top options.

On the inside, the new Thar gets a redesigned dashboard with circular air-con vents and a new centre fascia that houses a touchscreen infotainment system. It could also get front-facing rear seats.

The Thar could be powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine producing 187 BHP and 380 Nm and a 138 BHP 2.2-litre diesel engine. Transmission options might include an automatic and a 6-speed manual. Mahindra could also offer a diesel AT variant.
