The Mahindra XEV 9e electric SUV has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP. It scored 32/32 points for adult occupant protection and 45/49 points for child occupant safety.
In the front offset barrier test, the XEV 9e offered good protection to the head, neck, chest and lower body of the driver and passenger. The EV offered good protection overall in the side movable barrier and side pole impact tests as well.
Dynamic tests were conducted with the use of child restraint systems. The XEV 9e received a dynamic score of 24/24 and a CRS installation score of 12/12. The vehicle assessment score was 9/13.
The test vehicle was an XEV 9e Three B79 variant. The electric SUV weighs 2,492 kg and is equipped with front, curtain, side chest and side pelvis airbags, ESC, seatbelt reminder, and ISOFIX.
