Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV's variant details out

The XUV400 electric SUV is likely to be offered in three variants: Base, EP and EL.

The Tata Nexon EV-rivalling Mahindra XUV400 was unveiled in September this year. While we await the price announcement, a Type Approval certificate has shed some light on its variant details.

The document reveals that the XUV400 is likely to be offered in three variants: Base, EP and EL. The electric SUV is 4,200 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.

The XUV400 uses an electric motor that produces 148 BHP and 310 Nm. It is powered by a 39.5 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a maximum range of 456 km (MIDC) on a single charge. The battery can be charged from 0-80% in 50 mins using a DC fast charger.

The XUV400 is the all-electric version of the XUV300. While the design is largely similar, the electric car gets a blanked-off grille and copper accents. Inside, it gets a touchscreen infotainment system offering over 60 connected car features. It also offers smart watch connectivity and supports OTA updates.
