Mahindra XUV700: 1 lakh cars booked in 4 months

Mahindra had racked up over 50,000 orders in just 3 hours after the bookings opened.

According to Mahindra, bookings for the XUV700 have crossed the 1 lakh unit mark in 4 months. The waiting period is still hovering above 6 months and is unlikely to come down anytime soon.

The XUV700 was launched in October last year. The market response was extremely positive and as a result, the company racked up over 50,000 bookings in just 3 hours.

The huge number of orders and the ongoing chip shortage had led to delays and had forced the carmaker to prioritize the deliveries of petrol variants of the XUV700. Deliveries of the diesel variant commenced in November last year.

The XUV700 is offered in four variants - MX, AX3, AX5, and AX7. The SUV is available with two engine options - a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol producing 197 BHP and 380 Nm and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that makes 182 BHP and 420 Nm (MT) / 450 Nm (AT). Both engines come with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
