Mahindra XUV700: Availability, Deliveries, price hike & GNCAP

Mahindra XUV700 prices could be hiked by Rs. 50,000-70,000 in Q1 2022.

Last week, Mahindra opened its order books for the XUV700. It must be said that the bookings have been off to a good start.

Despite a small price hike, Mahindra received over 25,000 bookings on the second day. Another price correction is expected in Q1 2022. Prices are likely to go up by Rs. 50,000-70,000.

XUV700 Global NCAP safety rating:

The diesel variant is 5-star GNCAP ready, but the petrol variant is said to be a "borderline case". It is likely that Mahindra will send the diesel variant to GNCAP. That said, the carmaker is believed to be working on making the petrol variant 5-star GNCAP ready as well.

XUV700 deliveries and availability:

Customer deliveries are expected to start between October 31 and November 6, 2021. Mahindra aims to deliver 10,000 units before the end of this year and 25,000 units before the end of February 2022.

When it comes to the availability of specific colours, Red Rage will be readily available, followed by Dazzling Silver. The waiting period for the Midnight Black option is the highest. Customers will be able to get AX3 and AX5 Petrol AT in Red Rage in the least amount of time.

Reports suggest that Mahindra's Chakan plant has a huge inventory of XUV700s awaiting final Android Auto and Apple CarPlay certification. It is expected to be completed soon.

Mahindra is likely to offer a 360-degree camera conversion kit to customers at the dealer level. It will require a few modifications including replacing the front logo and both ORVMs. Besides, two new wiring harnesses will also be installed.
