On October 10, 2021, two Mahindra XUV700s reached the top of Umling La - the highest motorable road in the world.

Umling La is situated in south-eastern Ladakh. The highest point on the road is at an altitude of 19,300 feet from sea level. That's 1,667 feet higher than Mt. Everest base camp. Two petrol automatic XUV700s were driven from New Delhi via Manali and Hanle for over 4 days.

The XUV700 is powered by a 2.0-litre, mStallion turbo-petrol engine that produces 197 BHP and 380 Nm. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The SUV is also available with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that makes 182 BHP and 420 Nm.
