Major updates on my 2018 Maruti S-Cross: 4 years & 76,000 km

Fuel efficiency has been 20 km/l and above for the most part.

BHPian narayans80 recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

2018 (facelifted) S-Cross MJD - 76,000 km update

My last update here was at 52,000 km in January 2021. Was rested a full 45 days in May last year as the entire family was infected with Delta.

Hasn't seen too many long drives, one major Hospet-Bijapur drive in October 2021, the rest were in the 600 - 1000 km ballpark.

Since March has been doing 80-90 km a day on a suburban commute. Has raked up about 6500 km in 75 days.

Some major updates over the last 25,000 km:

  1. Glow plug nonsense finally stopped after 63K after the glow plug control module and all 4 glow plugs were replaced.
  2. Stock JK UX Royales were replaced with Continental UC6 at 58K in June 2021. I am impressed so far. My next swap would be another set of UC6, hopefully around 110-120K.
  3. A cattle encounter at 66K in December 2021. I wrote about it briefly in its thread here. Bad timing with a lot of flood-affected vehicles at the workshop meant 24 days of downtime to get it back in shape.
  4. On the FE front. Except for the 16.x figure during the downtime with Delta. FE has been 20 and above for the most part. The lowest with suburban commute was 20.9.
  5. Was able to rake 1000 km in a tank finally. Came close once in Feb 2021, and finally managed in the last refuel. Have written about it here.
  6. Have seen an occasional issue shifting into 3rd, either from 2nd or 4th. This disappears after the first few shifts of the day. Very rare on long runs. Planning to get the clutch plate replaced during the 90K service.
  7. Battery replaced at 68K in Feb 2022.

Should hopefully see 100K (my first) sometime in early 2023

There is a dedicated thread for Wireless Android Auto. Has links to experienced available solutions.

I go crazy and switch between Carplay and Android Auto depending on my mood. Have not had any issues with wired connectivity across Oneplus 5, Oneplus 7 and iPhone 11. So no inspiration to spend 100 USD with that status quo.
