Maruti Ciaz bookings commence from September 03, 2014

Bookings for the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will commence from 3rd September, 2014; for a booking amount of Rs.21,000. The Ciaz is mid-size sedan which will replace the Maruti SX4 in India and compete with the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Nissan Sunny, etc.

Powering the Ciaz is a 1.4 litre petrol and a 1.3 litre diesel motor; with an option of an automatic transmission mated to the petrol motor. Maruti boasts that the Ciaz is the most fuel efficient car in its segment with ARAI fuel efficiency figures of 26.21 kmpl for the diesel and 20.73 kmpl for the petrol motor.

The Maruti SX4 received a lukewarm response in India and so did its predecessor - the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, due to Maruti's image of being an affordable and a fuel efficient car manufacturer. But with changing times, the company is optimistic about the success of the Ciaz, which is slated to launch by mid-October, 2014.
