Maruti Ertiga gets 1.5L Diesel engine option

The Maruti Ertiga is now available with the new 1.5-litre DDiS 225 diesel engine. It is available in three variants - VDi, ZDi and ZDi+ priced at Rs. 9.86 lakh, Rs. 10.69 lakh and Rs. 11.20 lakh respectively.

Maruti's new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine has been developed in-house. It produces 94 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 225 Nm of torque @ 1,500-2,500 rpm and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. 

According to Maruti Suzuki, the engine uses a Dual Mass flywheel that is claimed to reduce engine fluctuations, while the pendulum type engine mounting improves ride quality and reduces NVH.

The Ertiga is also available with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque @ 4,400 rpm and comes with a choice of a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox.
