Maruti Futuro-E trademark filed

Maruti Suzuki has filed a trademark application that suggests that the carmaker could be working on a new electric vehicle (EV) called the Futuro-E.

Reports suggest that the Futuro-E could be based on the Maruti S-Presso, whose pre-production concept was called the Future-S. Maruti might present the Futuro-E concept at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo.

Maruti Suzuki is also testing a WagonR-based EV. The car features a 72V electric drive and a 10-25 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which is said to offer a maximum range of around 130 km on a single charge. The battery supports fast-charging and can be recharged in 60 minutes.
