Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system is standard across the range.

Maruti recently commenced the official media drives for the Jimny. The SUV is one of the most-anticipated models in the country. Now, ahead of its launch, the Indian carmaker has revealed the ARAI-certified fuel economy numbers.

The manual transmission version of the Jimny claims a fuel efficiency figure of 16.94 km/l while the automatic is slightly lower at 16.39 km/l.

Jimny will be offered with a 1.5-liter, K15B naturally aspirated engine. This engine comes with a choice of 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The engine is good for 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 134.2 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system is standard across the range.

The Jimny was first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. It is said that over 25,000 bookings for the offroader have been received by Maruti. Earlier this month, series production of the Jimny commenced at the company’s Gurgoan plant. This 5-door Jimny will make its world debut in India.

Media reports have said that Maruti will reveal the prices sometime in the first week of June.
