Maruti Suzuki Across spied again; gets 1.6L diesel engine

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Across crossover has been spotted once again. The latest set of spy images shows the car with 1.6 and DDiS badges, indicating that it will get a 1.6-litre diesel engine.

The diesel engine is expected to produce about 120 BHP and will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. However, the car in the image also bears an S-Cross badge, which could mean that it is an export-spec variant. For India, the car is likely to be offered with a 1.3-litre, diesel engine with 90 BHP on tap and mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The top variants are likely to get an AllGrip all-wheel drive system.

The Across comes with a dual slat chrome grille, projector headlamps and daytime running lights. The car gets black cladding running along the lower portion of its bumpers and sides with silver skid plate. The car is expected to have a ground clearance of about 200 mm.

The Across is expected to come with a black dashboard with silver detailing. Higher variants are likely to come with features such as a multi-function steering wheel, climate control and keyless entry and go.

More details on the Maruti Suzuki Across are awaited.
