Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: exteriors, interiors and variants

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the new Alto K10 hatchback next month. Details of the various trim levels and pictures of the car's exteriors and interiors have surfaced on the internet.

The new Alto K10 features a similar body to the Alto 800 that was launched in 2012. However, Maruti has made subtle changes to it. There are new headlamps, grille with a chrome strip and revised tail lamps and bumpers. The interiors of the Alto K10 have got a fresh and modern look. There's a redesigned dashboard with a new instrument cluster and a new steering wheel.

The Alto K10 will carry on with the same engine that does duty in the current model - a 998 cc, 3-cylinder unit which develops 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The K10 will be equipped with the automated manual transmission (AMT), which has been seen in the Celerio.

The Alto K10 will be available in in four trim levels - LX, LXi, VXi and VXi(O). The LX is the base variant and comes with minimal equipment such as a manual HVAC unit, integrated front and rear headrests, fabric upholstery and seatbelts. The LXi adds power steering, a tail gate opener, child locks on rear doors and an internally adjustable right wing mirror to the list of features. The VXi gets an audio system with radio, CD and USB compatibility and two speakers. It also gets central locking, front power windows, headlamp warning buzzer, tachometer, digital clock, rear parcel tray and wheel covers. The VXi(O) sits at the top of the variant line-up and features a driver airbag, fog lamps and keyless entry.
