Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift spied

  •

The updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been spotted for the first time. The spy image indicates that the facelift version is likely to get a new bumper and revised grille.

The updated Baleno gets a redesigned front bumper with a large air dam in the centre and separate vents on either side. The front grille looks wider and slimmer than the outgoing model and has a chrome strip on the lower side. The headlamp clusters have chrome inserts and house projectors. At present, Maruti offers projector headlamps on the Alpha trim. However, reports suggest that this feature is likely to be offered on the lower variants as well. The Baleno facelift might also get a few interior updates as well as new features.

Under the bonnet, the new car is expected to be offered with the same set of petrol and diesel engine options. These include the 1.2-litre petrol with 83 BHP and 115 Nm of torque and the 1.3-litre diesel that makes 74 BHP and 190 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is expected to be offered as standard, while the petrol version could get an optional CVT.
