The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been awarded a 5-star rating by Bharat NCAP. The car scored 29.46 out of 32 points for adult occupant safety and 41.57 out of 49 points for child occupant protection.
The crash test report published by Bharat NCAP shows that in the frontal offset barrier test, the compact sedan offered good protection to the head and legs of both occupants. Chest protection for the driver was rated as marginal.
In the side movable barrier test, the Dzire offered good protection to the head and abdomen, while chest protection was adequate. The car offered good protection to the occupants in the side pole impact test.
Dynamic tests were conducted with the use of child restraint systems. The Dzire received a dynamic score of 23.57/24 and a CRS installation score of 12/12. The vehicle assessment score was 6/13.
The Maruti Dzire has become the first sedan in India to receive a 5-star safety rating.
