Maruti Suzuki has shared a video highlighting the safety features of the upcoming e Vitara electric SUV. It also includes footage of the crash tests carried out on the vehicle internally.
Maruti Suzuki subjected the e Vitara to multiple crash tests, including the frontal offset and side impact tests.
The carmaker claims the new eBorn platform that underpins the new EV provides exceptional rigidity and strength thanks to the use of high tensile steel. It not only helps protect the passengers but also the battery, which is mounted on the floor of the vehicle.
The video also talks about the other safety systems on the e Vitara. These include high-voltage protection, specialized shock-absorbing mounting structure for the battery pack, and multi-load paths for effective distribution of impact forces.
The Maruti e Vitara is expected to be launched next month. It will be powered by a single electric motor and is likely to be offered with two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh.
