Maruti Suzuki starts accepting bookings for Baleno

Maruti Suzuki has announced that it has started accepting bookings for the upcoming Baleno hatchback. The booking amount has been set at Rs. 11,000. The car will be sold through the NEXA dealership network.

The Baleno measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,520 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm. It features Maruti's Liquid Flow design language and has sweptback headlamps, daytime-running lights, a V-shaped honeycomb grille, an air dam with horizontal slats, ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, blackened A and B-pillars, wraparound tail lamps alloy wheels and a roof-mounted rear spoiler. The car will be available in a choice of 7 colours - Solid Fire Red, Premium Urban Blue, Metallic Premium Silver, Autumn Orange, Ray Blue, Pearl Arctic White and Granite Grey.

On the inside, the Baleno gets black interiors with silver accents. The car will be equipped with features such as a multifunction steering wheel, Apple CarPlay, climate control, split folding rear seats and more. Safety features such as dual airbags, seatbelts with pre-tensioners and load limiters and ABS + EBD will be available as a part of standard equipment on all variants.

The Baleno will be available with a choice of two engines:

1.2-litre, VVT petrol, 83 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm @ 4,000 rpm

1.3-litre, DDiS diesel, 74 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm @ 2,000 rpm

While both engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the petrol version will get an option of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) as well.
