Maruti Suzuki YBA (Vitara Brezza) spotted without camouflage

Over the past six months, Maruti Suzuki has been testing a new compact SUV in India, codenamed YBA. The vehicle has been spotted on numerous occasions. The latest set of spy shots show the car wearing no camouflage.

It is believed that the YBA will be called Vitara Brezza when it goes on sale. The SUV bears resemblance to the Suzuki iV-4 concept, which was displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013.

The Vitara Brezza is expected to have a length of less than 4 metres and will be a rival for the Ford EcoSport. It has an aggressive front grille and the bumper houses a wide air dam. The greenhouse of the SUV looks similar to that of the Swift hatchback and the XA-Alpha concept, which was displayed at the 2012 Auto Expo. The car is running on steel wheels. At the rear, the Vitara Brezza gets a roof-mounted spoiler.

The Vitara Brezza is likely to be powered by engines from Maruti's current range. However, there are rumours that it could get a new 1.5-litre diesel engine with more than 100 BHP as well. The car is expected to be launched in 2016.
