Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance launched at Rs 1.95 crore

The new C63 S E Performance is powered by the world’s most powerful 4-cylinder engine.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the new AMG C3 S E Performance in India. The sports sedan is priced at Rs 1.95 crore (ex-showroom). Bookings are now open and deliveries will commence in Q2 2025.

The new C63 S E Performance is powered by the world’s most powerful 4-cylinder engine. Unlike the previous generation, which had a 4.0-litre V8, the new model comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a rear-mounted electric motor.

The 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol delivers 469 BHP and 545 Nm. The electric motor adds another 201 BHP and 320 Nm, for a combined output of 671 BHP and 1020 Nm. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels via the 4Matic all-wheel drive system. It even has a 'Drift Mode'.

Mercedes claims the new C63 S E Performance can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h. Being a plug-in hybrid, it gets a 6.1 kWh battery pack, giving the C63 an electric-only range of 13 km.

The new C63 also gets four-wheel steering, an F1-derived electrically assisted turbocharger and eight driving modes: Electric, Comfort, Battery Hold, Sport, Sport+, RACE, Slippery and Individual. Drivers can also select from three different damping settings: Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

Being an AMG, the C 63 S E Performance looks muscular compared to the standard C-Class. It is also wider and longer than the regular model. It features a Panamericana grille at the front with sporty bumpers at both ends and rides on 20-inch wheels.

The interior, though, is similar to the standard car, except for the AMG-specific 3-spoke steering wheel, optional AMG Performance seats and other sporty bits. The car has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, a 15-speaker Burmester sound system, a 360-degree camera and ADAS.
