Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 India launch on August 24

The Mercedes EQS 580 and 450+ variants are likely to be assembled locally.

Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch the AMG EQS 53 electric sedan in India on August 24, 2022. It will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU).

Mercedes also plans to launch the EQS 580 and EQS 450+ variants in India at a later date. These variants will be assembled locally.

The EQS is the first model to be based on the EVA (Electric Vehicle Architecture) platform. It gets LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, connected together by an LED strip and LED taillights, again connected by an LED strip.

Inside, it gets the brand’s latest Hyperscreen, making up the entire dashboard with three digital displays. These include the instrument cluster, the touchscreen infotainment unit and a third display for the front passenger.

The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ packs 649 BHP and 950 Nm and is powered by a 107.8 kWh battery pack. The company claims that the EV can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and can travel up to 570 km on a single charge.
