According to a media report, Mercedes-Benz is set to launch two new flagship models this month. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 and AMG S 63 sedan are likely to be launched in India on May 22.
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 facelift made its global debut in April last year. The luxury SUV gets a revised grille, redesigned bumpers and new LED headlamps and taillights.
Inside, the GLS 600 gets Mercedes’ latest MBUX infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, rear seat infotainment screens and a 27-speaker Burmester sound system.
Powering the Maybach GLS 600 is a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. It produces 549 BHP and 730 Nm, while the mild-hybrid setup provides a boost of 22 BHP and 250 Nm.
Mercedes’ flagship sedan, the AMG S 63 E Performance, is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a 13.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. It packs 791 BHP and 1,430 Nm.
One of the highlights of the S 63 is its self-levelling active air suspension called AMG Ride Control+. The car also has an electric-only range of 33 km.
