Mercedes C-Class now gets a 2.0L petrol; 1.5L hybrid is out

Mercedes-Benz has silently updated the petrol C-Class with a 2.0-litre engine. The car was earlier sold with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a hybrid system.

The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine is offered in the C 200 variant and develops 200 BHP @ 5,800-6,100 rpm. The claimed 0-100 km/h time is 7.7 seconds and the car has a top speed of 239 km/h. It is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.  The outgoing 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine produced 181 BHP @ 5,800-6,100 rpm and 280 Nm @ 3,000-4,000 rpm. It was combined with a 48V hybrid system.

There are no changes to the interiors or the exterior of the petrol C-Class.
