Mercedes EQS OTA updates offer games for $105 per year

Mercedes-Benz states that the customisation package will be free, for the first 12 months.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS flagship electric sedan made headlines a couple of weeks back, when the brand charged its customers an additional US$ 571 per year for 10-degree rear-wheel steering function, post vehicle purchase.

Now, the German carmaker is back again, announcing yet another premium OTA update for its EQS customers. Mercedes-Benz has announced that they will be offering EQS customers a customisation package, which includes several lighting animations and sound experiences inside the cabin. However, the most interesting feature of the OTA update is the addition of several mini-games such as Tetris, Sudoku, Shuffling Pack and Pairs.

Mercedes-Benz states that the customisation package will be free (included in the purchase price) for the first 12 months. However, customers can opt to extend the service by paying an additional €89 (US$ 105) per year.

Alongside the OTA update for the games, Mercedes will also be offering two driving modes - beginner driver mode and valet driver mode, for an additional €50 (US$ 58). There is also a 'highlight' mode, where the vehicle will introduce itself and highlight its equipment list.

Mercedes-Benz also announced the pricing for the EQS electric sedan. The EQS 450+ is priced at €106,374, while the top-spec EQS 580 4MATIC is offered with a price tag of €135,529.
