Mercedes leads the premium vehicle segment in Sep 2020

Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Jaguar Land Rover emerged as the top 3 brands in the premium vehicle segment.

According to the new vehicle registration data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), Mercedes-Benz topped the sales charts in the premium vehicle segment last month.

Mercedes-Benz sold 545 units in September 2020 compared to 772 units in the same month last year. In second place was BMW. The carmaker sold 467 units compared to 600 units in September 2019.

Jaguar Land Rover sold 135 units, while Volvo delivered 120 cars. Like most carmakers, both brands recorded degrowth compared to the same month last year. In September 2019, JLR and Volvo had sold 273 units and 130 units respectively.

Audi sold 38 units (CBU models) in September 2020, as opposed to 227 units in the same month the previous year. We don't have the exact sales numbers for the CKD models. These are included in the combined sales figures for Skoda Auto VW India (1,808 units).

Porsche delivered 20 units, while Lamborghini sold 2 cars. Rolls Royce and Ferrari sold one car each.
