Mercedes 'service on wheels' for small towns & cities

Mercedes-Benz has launched 'Service on Wheels' for customers in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, which currently don't have authorized service outlets. The service truck will carry out first free inspection, Service A and Service B.

In the first phase, 'Service on Wheels' will travel to 15 cities including Jalgaon, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar, Valsad, Kutch, Amravati, Udupi, Bellary and Dharwad. In 2019, the service will be available in other cities.

'Service on Wheels' will feature two trucks, each kitted out with necessary parts, tools and equipment like mobile lifting platform, generator and diagnostics equipment. The trucks have customized interiors with seating for 6 people, vinyl flooring, 43-inch television and air-conditioning.

Jobs like vehicle health check-ups, functional checks of the interior and exterior systems will be carried out. Cars will also be checked for leakages, oils, fluids and coolant levels. Technicians will also check the health of the tyres, replace oil, dust and oil filters and check the condition of the poly V-belt, axle, axle joints, suspension struts and springs.

Trained service advisors and Vehicle Preparation Centre (VPC) technicians will accompany each truck. Customers will also be able to book workshop appointments for cars that require more repair work.

'Service on Wheels' will be used during Mercedes-Benz service camps and sales campaigns as well.
