MG Astor launched at Rs. 9.78 lakh

The MG Astor competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and the VW Taigun.

MG has launched the Astor in the Indian market at prices starting from Rs. 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the car will open on October 21, 2021.

The MG Astor is the petrol version of the ZS EV. It is available in four variants - Style, Super, Smart and Sharp.

The Astor is slightly shorter than the Hector in length. Its design is similar to the ZS EV facelift that broke cover last week. The car features a hexagonal grille at the front and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Astor gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with a Jio e-SIM. The car also gets an AI-based personal assistant.

MG Astor feature highlights:

  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Heated ORVMs
  • Automatic climate control
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat
  • 7-inch digital instrument cluster

The Astor comes equipped with Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These include features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention and Speed Assist.

The MG Astor will be available with two engine options. These include a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit producing 138 BHP and 230 Nm and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated motor that puts out 109 BHP and 144 Nm.
