MG to introduce 7-seater Hector Plus in January 2021

The 7-seater Hector Plus should get the same engine options as the 6-seat version.

MG has announced that it will launch a 7-seat version of the Hector Plus in January 2021.

The 6-seat version of the MG Hector Plus was launched earlier this year. The SUV comes with 3 rows of seats with captain seats in the second row. To differentiate it from the 5-seater Hector, MG has also made some minor cosmetic revisions. The 7-seater Hector Plus will get a bench seat in the second row. While it may not feel as luxurious as the 6-seater, an additional seat will add to its practicality.

The 7-seater Hector Plus is expected to get the same engine options as the 6-seat version. These include a 2.0-litre diesel engine that makes 168 BHP and 350 Nm, which is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol engine producing 141 BHP and 250 Nm mated to 6-speed DCT as well as a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid powertrain that is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

MG has also announced a price hike that will be applicable from January 1, 2021. Depending on the model, prices will go up by up to 3%.
