Mini JCW Pro Edition launched at Rs. 43.90 lakh

Mini has launched its John Cooper Works (JCW) Pro Edition in India. The limited edition model can be booked on Amazon India and is priced at Rs. 43.90 lakh. Only 20 units will be imported into the country as CBUs.

The Mini JCW Pro Edition is based on the three-door Mini and features the John Cooper Works Pro tuning kit and JCW accessories. The car comes with a dual-tone exterior featuring a red roof and ORVM housings. The aesthetic package consists of a matte black and red stripe on the bonnet, LED headlights with black surrounds and a JCW body kit with unique emblems. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels painted in gloss black and dual exhausts with controllable valves in a carbon fiber finish. It will be available in two colours - Midnight Black and British Racing Green.

Inside, this model gets JCW sports seats with integrated headrests wrapped in black and red Alcantara. It gets a dual-tone dashboard with red trim and an anthracite roof lining, JCW steering wheel wrapped in perforated leather and paddle shifters. The gear lever gets red trim as well.

The Mini JCW Pro Edition comes loaded with features like a head-up display, satellite navigation and Harmon Kardon audio system with touchscreen, 12 speakers and 8-channel digital amplifier with an output of 360 Watts.

A 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 190 BHP and 280 Nm in its base tune powers it. With the JCW Tuning Kit, the total output goes up to 208 BHP and 300 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The hatchback is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 sec. It is 0.2 sec slower to 100 km/h without the JCW Tuning Kit, apparently.

Drivers can choose between three driving modes- MID, Sport and Green. In the standard MID mode and fuel-saving Green mode, the adaptive dampers are on their softest setting. The suspension stiffens up in Sport mode. Additionally, the JCW Pro Edition gets a host of safety features driver and passenger airbags, brake assist, dynamic stability control, crash sensor, ABS, cornering brake control and a run-flat indicator. It also gets an auto start/stop function, brake energy regeneration and a gearshift indicator.
