Mitsubishi Expander MPV teased

Mitsubishi is set to unveil the Mitsubishi Expander MPV at the 25th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) on August 20, 2017. The company has released a set of teaser images before the official unveil next month in Jakarta.

The MPV was first showcased in 2016 as the Mitsubishi XM Concept. The Expander's styling is based on Mitsubishi's Dynamic Shield design philosophy. Up front, the positioning of headlamps is rather unconventional. The grille sporting the Mitsubishi logo is flanked on either side by LED daytime running lights while the headlamps are placed on the lower part of the front bumper just above the fog lamps. The rear end features L-shaped tail lamps with LED details.

While, Mitsubishi has no plans to introduce the MPV in India, it will rival the likes of the Honda Mobilio, Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Avanza in the South East Asian market, especially in Indonesia where it goes on sale later this year. No official details regarding the powertrain have been released yet, though the company has mentioned that the MPV will be powered by an engine with a maximum displacement of 1.5 L.
