According to reports, more than 90% of all Ferrari cars ever produced are still on the road today.
Speaking to the media, Andrea Scioletti, Head of Ferrari's certified Pre-owned Program, stated that over 90% of cars which have left the Ferrari factory continue to be on the roads even today. He said, "More than 90 per cent of the total Ferrari production – beyond 300,000 cars – is still on the road."
One of the main reasons for this is the brand's pre-owned program. Scioletti, stated, "Pre-owned is often the main entrance for the [new] people accessing the Ferrari [brand]. For this reason, we have created several programs to preserve the experience… of the cars over time. Ferrari Approved is a way to guarantee that the experience for those buying a Ferrari remains unchanged over time."
The pre-owned program head even compared this number to its rival, Porsche, stating how Ferrari eclipses the German brand. Scioletti stated how only 70% of all Porsche models produced are still on the road today.
In addition to the pre-owned program, Ferrari also has several after-sales programs for its older models, including a 3-year factory warranty, additional extended warranty and powertrain-specific warranties that last up to 16 years after the car has been delivered. Scioletti also stated how the brand believes "a Ferrari is forever"
Reports also state that Ferrari-approved-certified cars hold a higher resale value. Scioletti stated, "It could be also an opportunity [for customers] to enter [the] Ferrari world… through a different channel."
For even older cars, Ferrari also has its elite Classiche Program - the top-level of Ferrari certification.
