Most road accidents occur between 6 pm and 9 pm

According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data for 2019, most road accidents in India occur between 6 pm and 9 pm.

Out of the 4,37,396 accidents reported in 2019, 83,097 took place between 6 pm and 9 pm. That's 19% of the total road accidents. The NCRB data also reveals that 50 road accidents happen every hour, in which 50 people are injured and 18 die.

In December 2019, it was reported that road accidents are the biggest killer for India's working age males. In the 15-39 age group, road accidents account for 14.4% of the deaths, while the figure goes up to 17.7% for the 15-29 age group.
