Thought it’s best to give an update on my experience raising a request for a replacement HSRP number plate. Do note that this is the process I followed in Bengaluru, and I did not need to visit the police station. This is the process:
1. File an e-Lost Report on KSP app.
2. Download the e-Lost report locally on your phone/system for future reference.
3. Go to bookmyhsrp.com and raise a request through the option “Replacement/Retain/Transfer.”
4. After filling in the required details, you will also be asked to upload the e FIR. Upload the e-Lost report here.
5. Add the date and time slot you want to get the number plate fitted and pay the required amount (extra for home fitment)
6. You will get an SMS with the confirmation.
My experience:
Initially my application was stuck and did not go past the confirmation stage. I was not receiving any SMS updates either, so I called up the helpline after 2 days. They requested that I send the e FIR/e Lost report again through email. This time, they processed my application and I received an update by SMS (confirmation SMS immediately and number plate dispatch SMS a day later).
On the allotted day, the person came and fit the number plate. He called a few hours before the allotted time to confirm my availability, which was good on his part. Replacement of the number plate took 10 mins.
