My Maruti Zen restoration saga: Work done & what's still pending

The windscreen had been replaced with an original but, sadly was damaged while it stands for body work.

BHPian hawker350 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Apologies to all those who have waited to hear from me further on this build/restoration. Alas, many hurdles have popped up and the work on the Zen screeched to a halt. It had been completely restored mechanically right around my last reply on this thread. After which I had it sent off for the denting and rusting job in mid- March.

Let me first give you a job update:

1. Powertrain: The little G10b beast got a proper do-over with coolant flushes, filter cleaning, wiring replacement and piping re-done with new fluids.

2. Drivetrain: The entire drivetrain was pretty much like a firing squad victim, injuries everywhere you look. The little accident it visibly persisted through during its transportation actually took out the front axle and steering assembly, which was replaced. the rear left trailing arm was also bent and replaced. Both front suspension struts were replaced with replicas earlier in its life and had given out earlier in its life. Replaced.

3. Chassis: The same accident had pushed the chassis inward from the front left and had to be corrected by pulling it out. The earlier accident where it flipped had also caused damage to the roof so much so that they actually need to make new pillars for it.

4. Illumination and visibility: Sparkly shiny new headlights both front and back. The brake light also needed a bulb replacement and got it. The windscreen had been replaced with an original but, sadly was damaged while it stands for body work and shall need replacement again.

Now, because of multiple issues arising medically, financially and in my personal life, it has since stood there, crying for help as it waits to even be taken into shop. I highly appreciate everyone's patience and support throughout her journey and I shall continue to make my efforts towards getting this build on track as soon as possible.
