My VW Virtus GT completes 2000 km: Performance & fuel efficiency so far

Compared to the Polo, this feels less corner-friendly but in no way it is a bad handler. It's just that the Polo is much better.

2000 kms update

After the delivery on 9th Sep, we (bhpian@acquillew and I) started from Pune to Ahmedabad the next day. Run in period of 1000kms was done in 5 days as Pune-AMD is approx 700kms. Performance was very smooth on the highway which had good as well as broken patches throughout. From Pune to Mumbai, we got a mileage of 22KMPL but it reduced to 16.5 once we hit city traffic and then broken patches till Vapi. Now, this is a pretty good mileage considering we were 4 people onboard along with our luggage (4 medium size suitcases along with 2 backpacks).

Weekend arrived and the eagerness to take out the GT resulted in a short trip to Jodhpur-425KMs from our place. The route is scenic till we reach the stretch near Mount Abu but the conditions of the road have become pathetic with rains around.

Back to the car, it always feels planted no matter what the scenario is. From the Polo, yes, this feels less corner friendly but in no way it is a bad handler just that the Polo was much better. Lot of space at the rear means people at the back are happy (after Polo's rear seats) and your drives are more engaging. And then the performance, just one word-EXCITING, one tap on the pedal and it lets you know why those 3L extra were spent. The car zooms past everything on the road whenever needed. DSG is super smooth and quick to react to your inputs, just brilliant.

To add to all this we got a mileage of 18.3 kmpl on both sides with the same number of people and luggage as above. Adding a few snaps from the trip, along with the healthy mileage numbers recorded.
