Nagarjuna wins Champions class of 2017 T1 PRIMA racing series

Nagarjuna (29), an Andhra Pradesh resident, has won the Champions class of the 2017 Tata T1 PRIMA Racing Series, which was organized over the last weekend at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. He clocked the fastest lap time of 1:50.562.

Malkeet Singh (34) from Uttar Pradesh came second in the category, with a lap time of 1:50.597, while Rajasthan-based Bhag Chand (32) managed to secure the third spot on the podium. The Champions class category of the T1 PRIMA racing series comprised of only Indian drivers that were selected through the T1 Racer Program (TRP).

Tata Motors also trained and shortlisted 10 new Indian drivers from the second edition of the T1 Racer Program (TRP 2.0), who competed under the Super Class category. UP-based driver Pitambar (29) won this category, ahead of Shivnihal Singh and Gurujant Singh.

Meanwhile, various international racing truck drivers participated in the race's Pro-class category. David Vrsecky from the Czech Republic aced this category, by winning both races of the weekend. Competing under team Dealer Daredevils, Vrsecky clocked the fastest lap time of 1:47.204 in a 400 BHP truck. Norbert Kiss of team Tata Technologies motorsports managed to secure the second position, ahead of Gerhard Kober of team Dearer Warriors on the third place.

Season 4 of the T1 PRIMA racing series also saw participation of 6 drivers from the European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC). These new debutants in the one-make racing series competed alongside 6 drivers from the British Truck Racing Association (BTRA), who have been a part of the event since its inception in 2014.
